We still find the rail road spikes on the beach, in the lake and buried in the grass. We have saved many of them, part of history. We also have found pieces of some of the old gas lighting, not salvagable but enough to identify.Mr. Peterson was so nice when we first purchased the property and gave us a bunch of pictures of the old train site. Some day I hope to put together a history book of the area. Yes happy trails!

This looks like it will be a great way to get the history of Wolf Lake out to all of us. Grandpa John and Grandma Ellen Petersen first came to WL about 1920. They camped on the NW shore. In the 30's they camped (squatted) on the S shore where our property is today. In 1938 He purchased six lake lots and built the green 'shack' to use instead of the tent. John was great friends with the Bell brothers - Larry and Charlie. They helped each other out building their cottages, cutting wood and having dinners together.

I would be happy to scan them and post them when I'm back up in the spring and summer. Are you interested?

Wy grandfather Knight Osborn had a place in the 50-60's in what I think is now Wolf Lake trailer park, the one closes to the horse ranch. We hope to find pictures in his books to share. We look forward to meeting you all and sharing memories and creating new ones! Happy Holidays.

We have found a short note addressed to my Grandfather, John L. Petersen from D.A. Rockwell dated Dec. 23, 1955. The note mentions a lawsuit that was settled. Also includes an O&A article re Mr. Wm. Raymond, an early Lake Cty. settler. Any Rockwells in the area? I can make copies. Jim
